Pentagon Unveils Fourth Batch of Declassified UFO Files

The Pentagon has unveiled its fourth batch of declassified UFO files, contributing 40 new records to its public archive on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). This release, which includes 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio files, and three images, was made available on the Pentagon’s UAP website and encompasses materials from multiple agencies, including the Pentagon, NASA, the CIA, the FBI, and the Department of Energy. This initiative follows an executive order signed by former President Donald Trump earlier this year, which directed government agencies to declassify selected UAP-related records. The current release is part of a series that began on May 8, with subsequent batches released on May 22 and June 12.

Among the notable documents is a detailed report from the Department of Energy, which describes an unidentified object entering the airspace above the Pantex Plant, a key nuclear weapons facility near Amarillo, Texas, on September 1, 2015. The facility is crucial for the assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and life extension of nuclear weapons. According to the report, two security officers pursued the object after the facility was placed on lockdown. They described it as diamond-shaped, rounded at the top, approximately four feet tall and two feet wide at the base, and moving silently without any visible propulsion system. Witnesses reported varying colors for the object, including black, silver, red, and blue. The officers were unable to catch up with it due to limited road access and ultimately lost sight of it, although the report classified the object as non-threatening.

Another file recounts a 2019 incident over the eastern United States, documented in a “range fouler debrief,” which is a standardized reporting form used by the US Navy for unauthorized intrusions into controlled airspace during military operations. The reporting aviator, who was accompanied by four crew members, noted that the object exhibited flight characteristics “unlike anything I had seen” in 28 years of service with the US Air Force and Navy. The object reportedly traveled in a straight line at high speed before accelerating out of the aircraft’s tracking field, making it impossible to reacquire even at lower zoom levels.

The release also features footage from a 2020 encounter over the Atlantic Ocean, showing a dark, reddish-brown object estimated to be four to five meters in height. A Navy weapons systems operator provided an account of the encounter, which was partially redacted, describing the object as resembling “a large, somewhat misshapen balloon” before the aircraft returned to its ship. More recent footage includes video from the US Indo-Pacific Command, depicting a military sensor tracking a six-pointed, star-shaped area of contrast over the Yellow Sea, along with another object monitored over the East China Sea for several minutes. Additional infrared footage submitted by US Central Command, the Air Force, and Indo-Pacific Command covers incidents that occurred between 2023 and 2024.

The batch also contains older materials, including a transcript from a 1949 conference at Los Alamos, New Mexico, where prominent physicists, some of whom had worked on the Manhattan Project, attempted to explain “green fireballs” reported over the nuclear laboratory. Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell indicated that further disclosures are expected as agencies continue their declassification reviews.
