Sebastian Gorka: Trump Administration Has Weakened Global Jihadi Movement
Dr. Sebastian Gorka, who served as Deputy Assistant to President Donald Trump and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council, has asserted that under Trump's leadership, the global jihadi movement is significantly weakened. In an interview with Matthew Boyle on Breitbart News Saturday, Gorka pointed out that the jihadi movement had previously aimed to destabilize Arab monarchies and undermine Western nations, particularly the United States. However, he claims that America is now stronger than ever, particularly in its relationships with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
Gorka noted that the GCC countries are now closer to the U.S. than they have ever been, especially in light of threats from Iran. He stated, "On every metric, especially thanks to the leadership of President Trump in the last 18 months, the global jihadi movement is on the back foot." He referenced the historical objectives of the jihadi movement, which included taking control of significant religious sites in Saudi Arabia and undermining Western influence.
He emphasized that these goals have failed, particularly as the GCC nations have strengthened their ties with the U.S. Gorka further highlighted the military achievements during Trump's administration, noting that U.S. forces have eliminated over a thousand jihadists who posed threats to American lives. He stated that no other president has achieved such a high number of jihadist eliminations in such a short timeframe.

In addition to military successes, Gorka mentioned the liberation of U.S. hostages during Trump's presidency, claiming that 110 hostages have been freed and returned to their families in the same period. He concluded by reiterating the effectiveness of Trump's counterterrorism strategies and the overall strength of the U.S. military under his leadership.
