Yishai Fleisher Added to Otzma Yehudit's Knesset Slate by Ben-Gvir
Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Chairman of Otzma Yehudit and Israel's National Security Minister, has confirmed that Yishai Fleisher will occupy the 12th position on the party's slate for the forthcoming Knesset elections. Fleisher, who serves on the Efrat Local Council, is recognized for his role as the international spokesman for the Jewish community in Hebron. He is known for advocating for Jewish rights in Israel and has defended Ben-Gvir in various media appearances, including on the program Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Fleisher's activism in Hebron focuses on enhancing the status of the Cave of the Patriarchs as a pilgrimage site, and he actively engages with journalists, public figures, and delegations to promote the city. His efforts also include restoring biblical and heritage sites to make their significance known both in Israel and internationally.
A significant aspect of Fleisher's public work is his commitment to aliyah, the immigration of Jews to Israel. Born in Israel to parents who were unable to emigrate from the former Soviet Union, he spent a considerable part of his life in the United States before returning to Israel as an oleh. In his capacity as a member of the Efrat Local Council, he assists new immigrants in integrating into the community. He is multilingual, speaking Hebrew, English, and Russian, and is a graduate of the Cardozo School of Law in New York.
Fleisher's inclusion on the slate follows a series of candidate announcements by Ben-Gvir. He will lead the slate, with Tally Gotliv expected to take the second position and Yitzhak Wasserlauf in third. Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, who has been active in heritage preservation initiatives, will be placed fourth. Additionally, Chabad activist Yossi Goldberger is set to be ninth on the slate. Recent polls indicate that Otzma Yehudit is projected to secure between seven and eight seats in the upcoming elections.
