Park Jinyoung and Kim You Jung Star in New Spy Drama '100 Days of Deception'
The upcoming tvN drama '100 Days of Deception' has generated excitement with its focus on the chemistry between Kim You Jung and GOT7's Park Jinyoung. Directed by Yoo In Shik, known for his work on 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' and the 'Dr. Romantic' series, this period spy romance is set against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation of Korea.
The storyline centers on Lee Ga Kyeong, portrayed by Kim You Jung, who is recognized as the top pickpocket in Gyeongseong, the historical name for present-day Seoul. She becomes an undercover spy for the independence movement, infiltrating the Japanese Government-General of Korea. Her path crosses with Kim Tae Woong, played by Park Jinyoung, who is also known as Sato Hideo and is the adopted son of a high-ranking official in the Japanese administration.
The promotional stills from the drama depict the contrasting lives of Lee Ga Kyeong and Kim Tae Woong. One image shows her skillfully stealing a wallet while dressed elegantly, highlighting her dual existence. Another still reveals her in a worn hanbok, reflecting the stark realities of her life.
Lee Ga Kyeong's aspirations to escape to the United States are challenged when she accepts a dangerous offer to become a spy. Her transformation is evident as she adopts the alias Geum Seo Hee, donning a bob haircut and a suit, ready to face the perilous missions ahead.
On the other hand, Kim Tae Woong maintains a polished demeanor, having been raised under the name Sato Hideo after being adopted during a time of enforced Japan-Korea unity. He works as an English interpreter within the Japanese Government-General of Korea, but his life takes an unexpected turn upon meeting Geum Seo Hee.
The drama promises to explore the complex relationship between Lee Ga Kyeong and Kim Tae Woong, as they navigate their hidden identities and the tension of suspicion. Their first encounter at Gyeongseong Station sets the stage for a narrative filled with intrigue and emotional depth.
The production team has expressed anticipation for the audience's reaction to the evolving dynamics between the two characters, emphasizing the blend of humor, romance, and poignant moments that will characterize their interactions.
'100 Days of Deception' is set to premiere on October 10 at 9:10 p.m. KST, and viewers can look forward to the performances of Kim You Jung and Park Jinyoung as they bring this captivating story to life.
