Nvidia Dominates Robinhood Chain with 74,000 Asset Holders, SPY in Seventh Place
Nvidia's tokenized equity on Robinhood Chain has emerged as the most popular asset on the platform, attracting approximately 74,000 holders. This trend indicates a growing preference among retail investors for tokenized tech stocks over traditional exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Following Nvidia are SpaceX and Apple, while the SPDR S&P 500 ETF, commonly referred to as SPY, ranks seventh.
Robinhood Chain operates as a Layer-2 network utilizing Arbitrum's technology, enabling the trading of tokenized US equities and ETFs as ERC-20 tokens. Each token is backed by underlying shares held by custodians, which facilitates on-chain trading, self-custody, and integration with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
In July 2026, the market cap for real-world assets on the chain surged nearly fivefold, reaching around $70 million, primarily driven by the demand for tokenized equities. Nvidia's tokenized version, known as NVDArh, has not only led in holder counts but has also shown approximately $2.4 million in DeFi deposits, indicating that holders are actively engaging with the asset in lending and liquidity protocols.
By late July 2026, the total number of tokenized equity holders across all platforms surpassed 766,000, reflecting rapid adoption within a short timeframe. Notably, SpaceX's tokenized equity offers access to a private company that traditional retail brokerage accounts cannot provide.
The ability for tokenized stock holders to deposit their assets into lending protocols or liquidity pools creates a new intersection between traditional equities and decentralized finance. For instance, a holder of NVDArh can potentially earn yield on their Nvidia position, a feature not available through standard brokerage accounts.
However, tokenized equities rely on custodians to hold the underlying shares, which introduces counterparty risk absent in direct stock ownership. While the 766,000 total holders represent significant adoption, this number remains small compared to the hundreds of millions of brokerage accounts worldwide.
Early data from Nvidia's token, with its $2.4 million in DeFi deposits, suggests that some holders are viewing these assets as functional financial instruments rather than mere digital collectibles.
