Kim You Jung Stars as Undercover Spy in Historical Drama '100 Days of Deception'
The upcoming drama '100 Days of Deception' from tvN has revealed its first promotional poster. Directed by Yoo In Shik, known for his work on 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' and the 'Dr. Romantic' series, this period spy romance is set during the Japanese occupation of Korea and spans a critical 100 days.
The narrative centers on Lee Ga Kyeong, portrayed by Kim You Jung, who is recognized as the top pickpocket in Gyeongseong, the historical name for present-day Seoul. In a twist of fate, she becomes an undercover spy for the independence movement. Assuming a false identity, she infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea, posing as an interpreter trainee. This dangerous mission leads her to cross paths with Kim Tae Woong, played by Park Jinyoung of GOT7, who is also known as Sato Hideo.
Kim Tae Woong is depicted as a newly appointed interpreter for the Japanese Government-General and the adopted son of the Inspector-General of Korea, a high-ranking official in the colonial administration. The newly released poster effectively captures the tension and suspense surrounding Lee Ga Kyeong's perilous undercover assignment. As she enters the unfamiliar environment of the Japanese Government-General, her expression reflects a mix of vigilance and determination.
The tagline of the poster hints at the motivations behind Lee Ga Kyeong's risky undertaking, stating, "A girl who dreamed of heading to America infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea." In her quest to gather funds for her journey to America, she receives an irresistible offer from a sniper affiliated with an anti-Japanese resistance group.
'100 Days of Deception' is set to premiere on October 10 at 9:10 p.m. KST, promising to deliver a gripping tale of espionage and resilience. In the meantime, viewers can catch Kim You Jung in her latest drama 'Dear X' available on Viki.
