BMW 4 Series Cabrio Launches in Argentina as Exclusive M Performance Model
The BMW 4 Series Cabrio has made its debut in Argentina, arriving as the M440i xDrive model, which is the only convertible currently offered by BMW in the country. This launch comes later than expected but is well-timed for the upcoming spring season. The M440i xDrive Cabrio is being showcased at the Autódromo Roberto Mouras in La Plata as part of the BMW Experience event, where customers can place orders for this exclusive model.
The M440i xDrive Cabrio is priced at $106,900 in Argentina, a steep increase compared to the U.S. market, where the same model is available for $28,350 less. This price reflects the high import duties and taxes imposed on luxury vehicles in Argentina. The Cabrio is equipped with features such as heated, electrically adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a retractable wind deflector to enhance the driving experience.
In terms of performance, the M440i xDrive Cabrio is all-wheel drive, differing from the rear-wheel drive options available in other markets like the United States. Additionally, the European market offers a unique variant, the M440d xDrive Cabrio, which is powered by a diesel engine.
The vehicle is imported from Dingolfing and comes with a warranty covering three years or 200,000 kilometers (approximately 124,274 miles). The roof can be lowered in just 18 seconds, but this can only be done while stationary or at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). The G23 model is expected to remain in production until mid-2029, with future plans for a successor still unclear, particularly regarding the potential for a fully electric i4 Convertible.
