Slow Horses Season 6 Trailer Reveals High-Stakes Threats for Slough House Agents
The trailer for Season 6 of 'Slow Horses' highlights the precarious situation facing the dysfunctional spies of Slough House, who are now being hunted. This season introduces a significant threat as former and current members of the team find themselves in danger. Olivia Cooke makes a surprising return as Sid Baker, a character not seen since Season 1 in 2022.
The trailer opens with Jackson Lamb, portrayed by Gary Oldman, in a tense moment, questioning why his agents are turning up dead. This sets the tone for a season filled with high-stakes drama, as the official logline suggests that the Slow Horses are embroiled in a deadly game of retaliation and revenge orchestrated by Diana Taverner, played by Kristin Scott Thomas.
As the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that anyone associated with Slough House is at risk. Katherine Standish, played by Saskia Reeves, emphasizes the gravity of the situation, stating that all former agents are being targeted. Lamb succinctly describes the chaos as a "blood bath," prompting the team to scramble to locate their former colleagues before the unknown assailant strikes.
The trailer also teases the return of familiar faces, including Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy and Joanna Scanlan as Moira Tregorian. The unexpected reappearance of Sid adds an intriguing twist, especially given her unresolved storyline with River Cartwright, portrayed by Jack Lowden. Lamb's humorous remark about spies faking their own deaths adds a layer of wit to the unfolding drama.
The cast for Season 6 also includes Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Jonathan Pryce, and Hugo Weaving, with BAFTA winner Lenny Rush joining the ensemble. Based on the spy novels by Mick Herron, this season is adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe and produced by See-Saw Films.
As 'Slow Horses' continues to gain acclaim, with Season 5 earning nine Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, the anticipation for the new season is palpable. Season 6 promises to deliver a fresh perspective by turning the hunters into the hunted, with the return of Sid adding further complexity to the narrative. 'Slow Horses' Season 6 is set to premiere on September 16 on Apple TV.
