Iran Allegedly Targets US Bases Using Chinese Satellite Technology
Recent reports indicate that Iran is employing Chinese satellite technology to precisely target American military installations in the Middle East. A former British intelligence officer has suggested that this strategy is part of a broader proxy war orchestrated by China against the United States. The satellite in question, known as 'TEE-01B', is said to provide high-resolution imagery, which Iran has leveraged to conduct targeted attacks. Although China has officially denied any military assistance to Iran, the implications of this technology have raised concerns about the evolving nature of warfare in the region.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in substantial losses for the US military, with billions of pounds worth of equipment destroyed and the deaths of 16 American soldiers. Notably, two American officers were killed in an attack on the Muwaffaq airbase in Jordan, coinciding with missile strikes on other US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. Data from May indicated that around 228 American military installations had been attacked since the onset of the conflict, a number that is believed to have risen since then. The losses include advanced fighter jets, intelligence-gathering aircraft, and critical defense systems, highlighting the vulnerabilities of US airbases, including those in the Pacific region.
Philip Ingram, the former British military intelligence officer, noted that China is closely analyzing how to breach American defense systems through these Iranian attacks. He emphasized that China is keen to exploit every opportunity to assess its military capabilities against the US. Intelligence assessments suggest that as the US continues to deplete its weapon reserves, China is indirectly bolstering Iran and Russia in the conflict, thereby enhancing its own military technology and targeting strategies.
In recent developments, Iran has also launched missile attacks on Jordan, where three missiles were intercepted, while a fourth landed in an uninhabited area. Warning sirens were activated in Amman, and Iranian missiles targeted the port city of Aqaba. Additionally, Kuwait reported a second attack on its water purification plant by Iranian forces. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is investigating an attack on a site intended for a nuclear power plant in Iran.
Amid these tensions, Qatar and Iraq are reportedly working as mediators to facilitate dialogue between the US and Israel. However, the ongoing conflicts have led to the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime route for global trade, further complicating the geopolitical landscape in the region.
