Army Arrests Terrorist Logistics Supplier, Seizes 150 Combat Boots in Zamfara
Troops of Sector II from Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully arrested a suspected logistics supplier for terrorist groups in Zamfara, recovering 150 pairs of combat boots along with various tactical items. The arrest occurred during a routine stop-and-search operation on Wednesday along the Sokoto-Gusau Road.
The suspect was found traveling in a Honda Civic vehicle, which concealed a cache of military-related items. Among the recovered items were three jackknives, three electric shockers, a tear gas canister, a military beret, and a belt. Additionally, two Android mobile phones, an iPad, and a digital wristwatch believed to hold intelligence value were also seized.
This operation is viewed as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the logistics and supply networks that support terrorist and bandit activities in the North-West region. The army highlighted that disrupting the flow of equipment and supplies to these criminal elements is crucial for weakening their operational capabilities and limiting their ability to conduct attacks.
The suspect is currently in military custody for further investigation, while the recovered items have been secured as evidence. The army reiterated the effectiveness of the intensified stop-and-search operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, aimed at restricting terrorists' freedom of movement and access to operational resources. The Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to applying pressure on terrorist groups and their collaborators to restore peace and security in Zamfara State and the broader North-West region.
